Minimum wage 2027: PLN 4,950 gross and PLN 32.30 per hour
The regulation is now in the Journal of Laws. See what you will earn from 1 January 2027 on an employment or civil contract, and what employers must do.
From 1 January 2027 the minimum monthly wage will be PLN 4,950 gross, and the minimum hourly rate for civil contracts will be PLN 32.30 gross. The Council of Ministers adopted the regulation on 14 September 2026, and on 15 September it was published in the Journal of Laws (Dziennik Ustaw). The amounts are final: the government did not reach agreement with the social partners in the Social Dialogue Council, so it set them on its own within the deadline required by law.
How big is the increase
In 2026 the amounts are PLN 4,806 gross per month and PLN 31.40 gross per hour. From January 2027 the minimum wage therefore rises by PLN 144 gross (3.0%), and the hourly rate by PLN 0.90 gross. According to government estimates, the increase will affect around 1.58 million people.
| 2026 | 2027 | |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum wage (umowa o pracę – employment contract, full time) | PLN 4,806 gross | PLN 4,950 gross |
| Minimum hourly rate (umowa zlecenie – civil contract, services) | PLN 31.40 gross | PLN 32.30 gross |
Your take-home pay depends on your situation: age (tax relief for people under 26), the PIT-2 form you submitted, PPK participation and tax-deductible costs. Trade media estimate that under standard assumptions a full-time job at the minimum wage will give around PLN 3,700 net in 2027. Calculate your exact amount with a salary calculator or ask your HR department.
Employment contract or civil contract — which amount applies to you
- Umowa o pracę (employment contract), full time — your monthly pay cannot be lower than PLN 4,950 gross. For part-time work the amount is calculated proportionally.
- Umowa zlecenie (civil contract) and contract for services — you are entitled to at least PLN 32.30 gross for every hour of work. If the contract states less, you still have the right to the minimum rate. You cannot waive this right or transfer it to another person.
- Temporary work — the same thresholds apply. If you work on a civil contract through an agency, your hours are recorded by the pracodawca użytkownik (user employer), i.e. the company where you actually work.
What does not count towards the minimum
When checking whether you receive at least the minimum wage, do not count: jubilee awards, retirement or disability severance pay, overtime pay, the night-work allowance, the seniority allowance or the allowance for special working conditions. The employer pays these components on top of PLN 4,950, not instead of part of that amount.
If in a given month your pay falls below the minimum — for example because of your work schedule — the employer must pay a top-up together with the wages for that month.
What this means for you
If you are an employee:
- From January 2027 check your first payslip: for full-time work the gross amount cannot be lower than PLN 4,950, and for a civil contract not lower than PLN 32.30 per hour.
- Pay under a civil contract must be made in money, and for contracts longer than one month — at least once a month.
- Record your hours. For a civil contract, the contract should specify how the number of hours is confirmed; if it does not, you submit a statement of hours yourself before payday.
- If you receive less, you have the right to a top-up. You can also file a complaint with the Państwowa Inspekcja Pracy (PIP – National Labour Inspectorate).
If you are an employer:
- Recalculate contracts that run into the new year — annexes to civil contracts below PLN 32.30/h and pay regulations quoting PLN 4,806 must be updated before the first payment for January 2027.
- Keep documents confirming the number of hours worked by contractors for 3 years from the day the remuneration became due.
- Paying less than the minimum hourly rate is an offence punishable by a fine of PLN 1,000 to PLN 30,000; failing to pay an employee the minimum wage — a fine of PLN 2,000 to PLN 60,000.
The new amounts mean more than a higher wage for the lowest earners. A number of other benefits and limits are calculated from the minimum wage, so it is worth checking now how the change will affect your contract or the employment costs of your company.
